GRANTS PASS, Ore. -- Phones?were ringing off the hook Tuesday at animal shelters across Southern Oregon.
After the 4th of July holiday, local shelters like Rogue Valley Humane Society see a spike in callers reporting missing or found pets.
They said fireworks often spook the animals.
This year, this shelter is turning people away because they don't have any more room or money to take in any more animals.
"It's been non-stop,?I mean if we could have opened up at?seven this morning to help people we would have," said Margaret Varner.
Varner said the shelter really needed extra help?Tuesday to man the phones but didn't have the extra cash.
